We used to go around the room and introduce ourselves as well whenever we had new guests, but we didn’t do that. We just yelled at them.
A guest speaker that Terry had arranged to speak had to cancel at the last minute. This mystery guest may appear at a later date.
Annual Cantina on the Con to be held on Labor Day Weekend. This is now an annual even to help the Friends of the Rubicon fight trail restriction issues and to provide for materials for trail maintenance as well. It’s a GREAT CAUSE, everyone is encouraged to attend. Held at
Next Month the club will vote on which Off Road organizations we will donate our funds to for protecting out trails.
This year our annual BBQ was held at Cisco Grove near

Joe M led a group up to some of the original train tunnels that were dug/blasted out by the original Chinese slaves that were brought over in the mid 1800’s to build the railroad across the Sierras. That would have been Mr. Stanford, Mr. Crocker, and Mr. Hurst who financed that little project. Joe lead the group driving right through the tunnels.
Chris FINALLY fixed his Super Duty so that it now has LOTS of power going up grades with a load! It turned out to be a plugged oil cooer! Seems the oil was simply too hot, and that, probably through the ECM would cause a low power condition. I assume the ECM would cut the power in an effort to keep the engine from over heating too much, and blowing.
Josh got 10MPG driving up through Sacto with his doors on…???
Mario’s TJ had the rear seal on the transfer case, at the rear driveshaft yoke simply popped out (I run a yoke on my NV241 instead of the flange). Once it popped out, all the tranny fluid in the t-case blew 2 quarts of fluid all over the underside and muffler, which promptly caught fire. My on board fire extinguisher ripped apart when I pulled on the handle/trigger bits. Luckily I had pulled into a gas station which had a working fire extinguisher that I used to put out the fire. I popped a new and “improved” seal into the t-case and everything is hunky-dorey except that it’s still dripping a little old tranny fluid wherever I park…Damn Jeeps sure like marking their territory. KEEP A GOOD WORKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN YOUR JEEP!
Aaron simply blew a heater hose which he was able to re-route and re fill the radiator. Once filled up, he was back on the road and made it with no further issues.
Trevor has a new motor in his rig
Ken is building up one good CJ from his two rigs
Brian’s blew out his control arm bushings, they have completely fallen apart, waiting for new parts… tough driver!
